Customer Support Management Team (1984)

This photo,  taken in late 1984, was of the Curtis Customer Support management team. It was used in a sales booklet highlighting the various departments in the Customer Support group, which at the time included Customer Service, Order Processing, Credit, and Administrative Services. The picture was taken in front of the backdrop for the Curtis trade show booth.

Rainbow Over Curtis Industries (1983)

Here is a photo someone took of a rainbow over the Curtis facility in Eastlake, which I believe was taken in the fall of 1983. Unfortunately, I am not 100% certain who took this photo. (If someone knows for sure, please leave a comment below so I can give proper credit to the photographer.)

Was there a pot of gold at the end of that rainbow? I’ll never tell.

Curtis Cookout Lunch At Landerhaven

Here are a few photos from a Curtis cookout lunch that was held at the Landerhaven location. I didn’t have a date on the photos but believe it was 1998 or 1999. There was some doubt that the cookout was going to take place as some of the upper management team couldn’t get the grill going.  (Click on any image for a larger view.)

Curtis Industries 1991 (Video)

Here is a video of Curtis Industries in Eastlake in July 1991. The video was taken with a hand held video camera, so unfortunately there is some “shaky cam.” I am sure the people who worked in the Retail Division at the time have some interesting memories of the new packaging program that was just being finalized when this video was taken.

Curtis Industries Aerial Views July 1963

Here are a few aerial photos taken of Curtis Industries in Eastlake in July of 1963. Most people never knew that a Nike Missile Site was less than a quarter of a mile down the road on Curtis Boulevard. Most of the Cleveland area Nike sites were closed in the 1960s. Curtis Sets World’s Largest Poster Record in 1983

It was 1983, and Curtis Industries was located in Eastlake Ohio, which had a large expanse of lawn in front of the building. To celebrate the company’s “President’s Weeks” sales promotion, the company used that lawn space to create the world largest poster (verified by the Guinness Book of World Records), which was 150 X 90 feet (13,500 square feet). Since the front lawn was usually filled with droves of Canada geese, the poster was also known by some to be the world’s largest piece of goose toilet paper.
